The analysis of Britain and the United States telecommunications regulatory systems and its implications for China

Nowadays, the world is experiencing stubborn problems of breaking the telecommunications monopoly and achieving effective competition through regulations. Learned from the telecommunications industry's successful reform experiences of developed countries, it is not difficult to see that adequate telecommunications legislation, independent telecommunications regulators& anti-trust system and the introduction of full competition are reasonably fundamental solutions, which are exactly the Chinese telecommunications industry disadvantages, and only these three changes can spark the rapid development of China's telecommunications industry. The coming scenario of convergence due to technological advancements is also bringing with it new challenges for the regulators. Based on the experiences from foreign telecommunications markets, this paper comes up with some suggestions to domestic regulator.
