New Institute of Clausthal Technical University to rekindle final storage debate

摘要：
The new Institute for Repository Research of the Technical University of Clausthal, the first university institution in the field of final storage of high-level radioactive waste in Germany, has taken up its activities. The inauguration ceremony and the opening lecture by Klaus-Jurgen Rohlig, the new professor for final storage systems, took place at the beginning of the 2007/2008 winter term within the framework of an academic event at the auditorium of the mining town in the Upper Harz mountains. In addition to conducting research, the Institute offers a course, unique in the world, on "Management of Radioactive Waste and Waste Hazardous to the Environment.".
