摘要
Audiovisual data compression has received a considerable progress in recent years. A lot of research focused on the application of the Discrete Cosine transform DCT and the Discrete wavelet transform DWT for JPEG and MPEG compression, while the LPC model has been widely used for the acoustic data compression. The aim of our work is to study the effect of the audiovisual compression from a video sequence using DCT, DWT for the extracted images and linear predictive coding LPC for acoustic waves. For this purpose, we use video and audio samples from TWIT dataset and from an audio visual recording made in our laboratory. The standard Lena image is taken for comparison. Good results were obtained using PSNR criteria for objective evaluation.
