摘要：
This paper presents a formalization for the image content, based on description logic using the language ALC(MS) which represents a way of combining formal conceptual and spatial reasoning based on a metric space. An image will be described based on both the visual content and the semantic content. Using the proposed formalization we can specify queries to determine similarities between images based on their low level features - shape and color, and on the semantic content. The formalization is used only for describing queries but it can be. enhanced for describing a model for image retrieval. The queries will be subsequently applied on this particular model.
