Electromagnetic Cascade: High-Energy Electron Beam Collisions with Intense Laser Pulses

摘要
The interaction of a high-energy electron beam with an intense laser pulse with subsequent production of photons, and electron positron pairs is studied. It is shown that charged particles in the strong electromagnetic field experience multiple emissions of photons, leading to the fast depletion of particle energy. The final distributions of electrons, positrons, and photons are calculated for the case of a high-energy electron beam interacting with a counterstreaming, short intense laser pulse.
