Advanced malignancies may cause distress, torture, and pain. According to these circumstances palliative treatment using surgical or interventional techniques can be essential. In every single case is has to be assessed, by which means in consideration of patients' strain the outcome may be improved. A close cooperation of all involved disciplines should be the basis of the therapeutic decisions.
