摘要：

This article consists of excerpts from the opening and closing messages delivered at CAG2021 - the annual scientific and educational meeting of the Canadian Association on Gerontology (CAG) - which took place in virtual mode from October 21-23, 2021. The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of the CAG and was attended by 645 delegates from across Canada and around the world. The theme of the conference was "Retrospective 20/20: Looking Back for a Vision of the Future in Gerontology". The conference presented emerging work examining the diverse and complex impacts of COVID-19 on older adults and aging, and highlighted the need to strengthen justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the field of gerontology.
