摘要
The most of the plasma modifications has been directed towards films and flat materials. The purpose of the present paper is to apply the atmospheric plasma to treat the polymer powder. Polyethylene powder Borealis CB 9155-01 was treated in atmospheric laboratory air DBD plasma. The DBD discharge at AC power frequency 50 Hz was generated between large plane electrodes and powder particles were several times poured through the discharge region by gravitational force. The effects of treatment time and discharge input power have been treated and capillarity attraction have been determined. Powder particles were confirmed to be well treated by using this procedure and hydrophobic surface of polyethylene powder was able to be transformed to the hydrophilic one. The present reactor can be utilized to modify the polymeric surface with relatively high efficiency.
