摘要：
The European Union Directive On the Protection of individuals with regard to the Processing of Personal Data and on the Free Movement of such Data provides a definition of data privacy for Europe for the next few decades. It addresses all types of personal data files, whether electronic, manual, images, or sound, and it is of profound significance for those concerned with the delivery, recording, and administration of healthcare. Special safeguards are required for personal health data, and appropriate security measures must be implemented.
