Photostructural transformations and photoluminescence fatigue effect in deformed crystals and powders of As2S3, GeSe2, and As2Se3

Photoinduced absorption and bleaching accompanied by a shift in the transmission edge and photoluminescence (PL) fatigue effect were found in deformed powders and crystals of As2S3, GeSe2, and As2Se3 at 77 K. In the excitation spectra of mechanically treated crystals, the PL peak shifts toward higher energies, the slope of the low-energy side of the band decreases, and the PL intensity rises. The results are discussed in terms of two stable structural states of molecular groups.
