摘要
Metrics for various aspects of pervasive computing and benchmarks that helps in comparing system with respect to these metrics are discussed. Pervasive computing, by its very nature, is about making computing invisible. Metrics and benchmarks stimulate competition by defining a framework for comparing the effectiveness of alternative approaches. Three challenges in quantifying pervasive computing are combining realism with reproducibility, its sheer complexity, and its multidisciplinary nature.
