A Two-Step Model Predictive Control Strategy for Dual Induction Motor Drive System Fed by Five-leg Inverter

摘要
Due to the execution delay of the control signal caused by digital controller, there is one sampling time delay between the required optimal switching state and the executed switching state under the conventional model predictive controlled (MPC) systems, which lowers the system performance. In this paper, a two-step model predictive control (TS-MPC) strategy is proposed for a dual induction motor drive system fed by the five-leg inverter. An advanced step prediction is involved to make compensation and eliminate the effect of the execution delay. Simulation results have verified that, better stator current waveforms and lower torque ripple have been achieved, which means the operation performance of the dual induction motor drive system has been improved by using the proposed TS-MPC strategy.
