Multicast performance of interconnected networks with high speed routers

摘要
The high speed packet switch STC104 has been developed and now available in Me market. Many research results have been presented regarding the performance of different topologies of STC104 interconnection networks. The efficient performance and scalability of the packet switch have been reported. The reliable router can be applied to the high performance parallel processing systems or data management networks. Multicast communication is an essential factor to improve the system performance. As multicast communication is demanded in many services, it is necessary to measure the multicast performance of interconnected networks of STC104. Since the STC104 is designed based on point-to-point communication, software multicast communication algorithm has been implemented for meshes and n-cubes based on the U-mist algorithm. The latency of software multicast communication is smaller than separate addressing transfer as Me number of processors increases.
