Exploiting Mobile Technologies to Build a Knowledge Mobilization Capability: A Work System-based Method

Recently it has been observed a proliferation of knowledge management (KM) projects in many organizations This phenomenon was driven by the increasing popularity of the knowledge-based view of the firm: which regards knowledge as a key competitive resource However studies showed that a large proportion of KM initiatives fail. As a result a number of actors in both academia and the practitioner world are calling for a new approach of KM. One promising approach is knowledge mobilization This paper suggested a new method for building a knowledge mobilization capability using mobile information and communication technologies (M-ICT) The proposed method is grounded on the Work System Approach and the so-called Braudel Rule for new technologies innovations(1).
