摘要
Primary small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (SNEC) of the nasopharyngeal cavity is extremely rare. We report of a 43-year-old male with a history of hearing loss of the right ear and swelling on the left side of his neck for one month. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of the head and neck revealed a thickened roof and posterior wall of the nasopharynx, and a mass in the nasopharyngeal cavity with invasion of the staphylinus externus and levator veli palatine. Histopathological diagnosis revealed SNEC. He was successfully treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy. No local recurrence or distant metastasis was identified after 10 months of follow-up.
