We report a case of spontaneous wrist fusion occurring in a magnetic resonance image (MRI)-proven stage I Kienbock's disease. The purpose of this case 'report' is to make hand surgeons aware of this potential finding and to alert hand surgeons and radiologists that diffuse MRI changes of the lunate may not necessarily be pathognomonic for Kienbock's disease.
