摘要：
This paper presents the presence of GIS systems for decision support in local authorities. The paper is divided into three parts: a classification of areas for decision support in local authorities, a study of GIS systems in use in Swedish communities, and a literature study of the present state of GIS systems for the classified areas world-wide. The paper ends with a conclusion of the current state.
