摘要：
Leptarctus kansasensis n. sp. is described on the basis of fragments of a maxillary bone with teeth and a skull fragment. The new species differs from other known species in having an accessory cusp between the protocone and hypocone on P-4. It has a unique bony process on the tympanic bulla that is divided into two lobe-like projections that cross each other. The dental characters and shape of the tympanic region clearly separates the new specimen from other known species within the genus.
