A Modified Antipodal Vivaldi antenna for ultrawideband Applications

摘要
An antipodal Vivaldi antenna (AVA) with periodic slits at sickle-shaped configuration are proposed in this paper for ultra-wideband applications. The sickle slot edge (SSE) structure is designed to extend the low end of frequency band and increase antenna gain at lower frequencies. The addition of SSE structure makes the antenna lower the low-end operating frequency by 320MHz and reduce the size of antenna at the same time. The antipodal Vivaldi antenna with the sickle slot edge (SSE-AVA) operates from 2.27 to 25GHz.
