Effect of incontinuous deposition on the cyclic oxidation behavior of EB-PVD TBCs

摘要
The effect of incontinuous deposition on the cyclic oxidation behavior of EB-PVD TBCs was investigated in this study. It was found that a lateral micro-crack was formed in TBCs during the incontinuous deposition process. The micro-crack slowered down oxygen inward diffusion along the column grains of EB-PVD TBCs, the outward diffusion of Ni, Cr, Co from bond coating, and therefore the growth rate of TGO. Upon cyclic oxidation, the weight gains of the TBCs deposited by the incontinuous deposition were less than that of the TBCs deposited by a normal deposition process. Our data showed that the micro-crack formed by the incontinuous deposition did not affect the cyclic oxidation behavior of the EB-PVD TBCs.
