摘要：
Individuals clinically cured of cutaneous leishmaniasis due to Leishmania (Viannia) braziliensis car. stay healthy for a long time or experience episodes of disease recurrence. The uncertainty of the prognosis of these patients reinforces the importance of identifying indicators that can predict which individuals will present sustained protection against parasite persistence and which individuals will present secondary lesions, in most cases mucosal leishmaniasis. as paper presents a compilation of bibliographic references together with the results of this research group, which studied subjects after being clinically cured of American tegumentary leishmaniasis (ATL) caused mainly by L. braziliensis.
