摘要
The purpose of this article is to analyze and discuss how Folha de Sao Paulo portrayed the image of Ronaldo in his participation by Corinthians in the Copa Libertadores 2010 and 2011, including the consolidation of the sports villain from the failure to fulfill his task. Methodologically, we propose a research based on the presuppositions of the history of the present time, considered an unfinished story, where the researcher lives the time of his own object. We selected news related to the 2010 and 2011 editions of the Copa Libertadores, in which Ronaldo was the central theme of the discussions about the expectations and the failures in the competition. The moment indicated the athlete as the protagonist who failed to meet what the media, the fans and the sports field expected.
