Dual-band Antenna Integrated with Solar Cells for WLAN and 5G Wi-Fi Applications

摘要
A dual-band solar cell antenna is proposed for the WLAN and 5G Wi-Fi bands at 2.4 GHz, 5.2 GHz, and 5.8 GHz. 30 solar cells are employed as the radiation structure for both energy harvesting and wireless communication. The simulation results show that the lower band is from 2.37 GHz similar to 2.51 GHz with an omnidirectional radiation pattern while the upper band is from 5.1 GHz similar to 6.7 GHz with a directional radiation pattern. The proposed solar cell antenna can provide a dual-band performance with radiation pattern diversity. The dual-function device can provide another choice for future green low-carbon communication.
