摘要
The rich IUE database for the old nova V603 Aql has been exploited in order to complement a recent study based on HST-GHRS observations whose limited time coverage prevented the detection of a possible periodicity in the presence of wind features associated with the resonance lines. We find that the variations in the absorption features do not show a definite periodicity: the CIV and NV resonance lines reveal significant and irregular variations, indicative of variable wind outflow and of the sudden ejection of puffs of optically thick material with timescales of the order of 10 minutes. There is no correlation between the presence of the wind features and the intensity of the UV continuum. The observed v(edge) reaches values of the order of -2700 km s(-1) and -1700 km s(-1) for CIV and NV respectively.
