The impact of mold flux chemistry on continuous casting secondary cooling water

摘要
Machine corrosion has been an issue since the beginning of continuous casting. Cladding of machine components, along with spray water treatment are generally used to combat machine corrosion. A laboratory test procedure was developed and a study was undertaken in an effort to quantify the effect of selected continuous casting mold flux raw materials and final chemistries on spray water alkalinity. Results of this study will be presented.
