A compensation scheme for network delay jitter of haptic media in networked virtual environments

摘要
This paper proposes a delay jitter compensation scheme for haptic media in networked virtual environments. The proposed scheme dynamically changes the reaction force applied to a user by adjusting a modulus (the elastic modulus of a spring-damper model) which is used to calculate the reaction force according to the network delay. The scheme also controls the force against each object as well as the reaction force. By experiment, we evaluate the output quality of haptic media and demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme.
