The article presents theoretical and methodological grounds for formation and development of the social security system and carries out the analysis of social security for population of the Volyn region for 2007-2009 Regional peculiarities and development prospects are determined, practical recommendations on the effecient functioning of the regulation mechanism for the social security system at the regional level are developed
