A Quantitative Analysis of the Functions of the Logistics Industry on the Economic Growth in Yunnan Province

The development of modern logistics industry is a necessary requirement for economic and social development, with economic globalization and the rapid development of information technology, its development level has become an important symbol to measure the overall competitiveness of a country or a region. s an advanced organizational method and managerial technology, the modern logistics is widely regarded as the profit source for enterprises besides lowering material consumption and improving labor productivity, plays an important role in the national economy and social development. Based on the elaboration of the development of logistics industry in Yunnan, this paper analyzes the geographical and the economic environment of the development of logistics industry in Yunnan, demonstrates the mechanism of the logistics industry on economic growth, and finally applies econometric methods to do quantitative analysis on the functions of the logistics industry on economic growth in Yunnan to provide the necessary basis for decision making on determining the status of the logistics industry on economic development in Yunnan Province and formulating development plans for the logistics industry in Yunnan Province.
