Leak detection of the pipeline using acoustic emission technique and wavelet transform

摘要
The principle of linear source location and the theory of wavelet transform are introduced. A leak detection technique using the wavelet transform and cross correlation is brought out. First, the wavelets transform (WT) is used for the acoustic emission (AE) signal denoising. After WT denoising, the cross correlation technique is adopted to calculate the time delay between the two AE sensors. Then a compare between this method and traditional cross correlation is conducted Simulation result demonstrates the effectiveness of this methods, the delay time determined based on this method agree well with the setting value of simulated signals.
