摘要
The Conservatives, the Labours, and the Liberal Democrats have been the three main political parties in British politics since 1980's. However, since the beginning of this century, the UK Independence Party has brought powerful impact on the British politics. It has become an important political force in British politics after winning 25% of the vote on average in the local elections in 2013 and winning most parliamentary seats among the British political parties in the European parliament elections in 2014. This paper analyzes the causes of Ukip's rise from perspectives of Ukip's anti-European and immigration policies, lack of political credibility of the governing parties, and the British weak economy affected by the eurozone crisis.
