Separable representation of the nucleon-nucleon chiral quark cluster model potential

We present a separable representation of the chiral quark cluster model nucleon-nucleon potential. The separable interaction is constructed in momentum space, by means of an expansion of the resonating group method kernels in terms of harmonic oscillator wavefunctions. The nucleon-nucleon potential includes Delta -isobar degrees of freedom within a coupled-channel formalism. For the two-body system, it removes the complication of evaluating the potential coming from the quark substructure, being much faster and saving computer time. Moreover, it opens the door to the study of few-body systems in terms of quark-model-based potentials, where the non-localities of the quark model are expected to produce observable effects.
