Parton distribution functions and electroweak physics

We discuss two aspects of electroweak physics that relate to parton distributions: (i) the calculation of total W and Z cross sections at hadron colliders, and in particular the uncertainties in the theoretical predictions that originate in the parton distribution functions, and (ii) the effect of including O(alpha) QED corrections to the parton evolution in the global analysis.
