This text studies the articles published between 1975 and 1980 (a total of 67) in the newspaper ABC by Mariano Navarro Rubio, during the Spanish transition to democracy. During Franco's Regime, Navarro Rubio served as minister of finance (1957-1965) and governor of the Bank of Spain (1965-1970). During his years as governor of the Bank of Spain, he wrote a series of works that dealt with, among other things, the idea of creating channels of social participation in government; or about the difficult compatibility between orthodox economic policies and parliamentary democracy. In articles later published by ABC, Navarro Rubio further expanded upon the framework laid out in his previous works. In addition to the exposition of his ideas, Navarro Rubio offered a critical look at the process of democratization that was taking place in Spain. The aim of this article is to contextualize Navarro Rubio ' s points of view, and to explore his political ideas.
