Steady-state interface motion: Formulation extended to the isothermal case

摘要
Formulation describing the nonequilibrium steady-state (solid/liquid) interface motion in the language of continuum matter [A. Mori: J. Chem. Phys. 110, No. 16, in press] is extended to the isothermal case. Equations derived from the mass- and the momentum-conservation are identical with those for the case without thermostating. However, equation derived from the energy-conservation is combined with that derived from the second law of thermodynamics; as a result we express the chemical potential difference of the coexisting two phases in terms of the specific volumes, net flow of mass in the liquid phase, and the viscosity term.
