摘要
The reaction of barium benzilate with two molar equivalents of molybdenum trioxide produces a crystalline compound that contains molybdenyl units chelated by two doubly-deprotonated benzilate ligands. The barium is coordinated by one of the oxygens of the cis-dioxo molybdenyl groups and six waters. This compound decomposes upon heating to 450 degrees C to yield phase-pure barium dimolybdate, BaMo2O7.
