摘要：
A method for determining the principal-stress trajectories in the neck of a specimen tested for tension is described using a conformal-mapping technique for transformation of the original network of reference. Expressions for the normal principal stress and the radius of curvature of the stress trajectory are derived for a cylindrical specimen with an elliptic cross section.
