Computational analyses are performed on a parallel-plate Blumlein line with a nonstandard width of the dielectric, as a way to mitigate against the dielectric breakdown. We report its effects on the electric field, propagation time of the transient effect, characteristic impedance of the line, and output pulse. (c) 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
