摘要
I introduce several examples indicating that the motor system can develop and retrieve multiple motor memories for identical movements according to distinct behavioral contexts. I demonstrate that the ability for the multiple memories is important for bimanual movement controls in which the movement of a limb is mechanically influenced by the movement of the opposite limb. I also propose a mechanism of how such multiple motor memories are created. Finally, I discuss the novel way of creating multiple motor memories by noninvasive direct current stimulation.
