Dear readers, yes, it might help! This is my answer to the question in the title of this issue of I&M Magazine. After reading the contributions in this issue you should have guessed, at least vaguely, that nonlinearity is not so bad, and that it can even be exploited advantageously to, for example, improve the performance of a measurement system or a mechanical transducer used to scavenge energy from vibrations.
