摘要
A micro photonic dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) system using ring resonator is presented in this paper. Three reference ring radii of 1, 5, and 10 mu m with radius variation method have been applied in the DWDM design. This system has been analysed within a single free spectral range (FSR) using the FSR of the reference rings from lambda(1) to lambda(1)'; they are 83.18 nm, 17.38 nm, and 8.63 nm, respectively. A standard DWDM system has a channel spacing of 0.8 nm, hence, the ring radius variation for the respective reference ring radii were 0.9 nm, 4.5 nm, and 9.2 nm, respectively to achieve 0.8 nm channel spacing throughout the FSR. Results show that 100, 22 and 11 channels are possible to incorporate within the single FSR. The systems have successfully demonstrated a 10 Gbit/s data stream per channel and therefore, support the data transmission of 1 Tbit/s, 220 Gbit/s, and 110 Gbit/s, respectively, for the DWDM system.
