Does The Psychological Role Motivates E-Health Literacy?

摘要
The number of people throughout the world seeks health information using the Internet is now growing. The Internet is used for locating and communicating for health-related purposes. The associations between psychological roles and e-health literacy are worth investigating. The objective of this paper is to investigate the influence of psychological roles towards the e-health literacy. This study employed a cross-sectional research design and survey question for data collection. A total of 482 completed questionnaires was obtained and valid for data analysis. The respondents had experience seeking health information online. This study findings indicated that all psychological factors investigated were significantly associated with e-health literacy. Health efficacy and motivation to healthiness had significantly contributed to the prediction of e-health literacy among the respondents. It is thus important to note that psychological roles play a significant contribution to e-health literacy skills, in which might highly encourage to the adoption of various healthy behaviours.
