Contactless Waveguide Adapter for Multiple Frequency Bands

摘要
A contactless circular waveguide adapter made of a bed of pins is proposed. The bed of pins are surrounding a circular waveguide opening from both ends to be used between the flanges of two standard circular waveguides. The bed of pins surface is making an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC). Inserting the adapter between the flanges of the waveguide prevents signal leakage even with no contact is assured. The adapter with bed of pins can be used for circular waveguides covering multiple mm-wave frequency bands between 50 and 110 GHz. The same adapter can be used with different circular waveguide diameters that operate within the 50- 110 GHz by changing the adapter circular waveguide diameter.
