摘要：
A reflection on the limits and possibilities of the essay as form, this paper discusses the tensions between, on the one hand, the structural open-endness of the genre, based on a relentless commitment to put into question its own premises, and, on the other hand, the institutional constraints usually associated to academic writing, whose conventions and superstitions, in general, work as a sort of defensive device against the anti foundational menace of the essaystic tradition.
