The comparison decrement method is generalised to apply in both time-domain and frequency-domain analysis. Experimental results are presented to verify. The sensitivity of Q-factor measurements can be improved by using the differential averaging technique. High-Q ceramic materials Ba3ZnTa2-xNbxO9, Ba3MgTa2-xNbxO9 and Ba3Zn1-xMgxT2O9 and also the Sr3ZnTa2-xNbxO9, Sr3MgTa2-xNbxO9, Sr3Zn1-xMgxT2O9 family are measured and introduced.
