Performance Evaluation of SDN controllers POX and Floodlight in Mininet Emulation Environment

摘要
Software Defined Networking(SDN) is an upcoming trend in managing and monitoring networks. It promotes a new way to the various networking activities such as neighbor discovery, load balancing, routing etc. All these services are initiated and organized by the programmable SDN controller which is considered as the brain of the SDN. The aim of this paper is to explore the popularly known controllers and analyze the features of the POX, Floodlight controllers and to compare their performance parameters. The emulator results shows that floodlight controller outperforms POX controller in terms of Throughput.
