摘要
This editorial introduces the current Special Issue of Translational Issues in Psychological Science which provides novel research findings and perspectives on the use of Virtual Reality (VR) for psychological applications. The variety of topics presented in this themed issue underscore the broad applicability (and potential value) of VR technology for addressing the diverse challenges that psychologists face in clinical research and practice. Taken together, the articles illustrate the importance of conducting translational research on the design, development, and evaluation of VR psychological applications. This is an area that is likely to have a significant impact on the future of clinical practice and research. Moreover, the expertise and skills of psychologists are seen as an essential component within an interdisciplinary approach that optimizes VR creation, relevance, and value across all areas of VR application.
