摘要
The author discusses the recent essay by Aurelio. Musi on the controversial concept of "Feudalism" applied to modem European history. Musi's interesting book, divided into seven chapters, welcomes elaboration because of its general concision. Above all he points out, as W. Kula did several years ago, that the European community of historians does not yet share a linguistic history of "Feudalism". Subsequently, he concentrates on four aspects suggested by Musi: the role of the Church in France according to Machiavelli's modem analysis; the absence of the role of the "Renaissance State"; the function of the jurists in maintaining and dissolving the modem feudal regimes; and finally the role of "Urban Civilization" in dissolving feudal Institutions.
