A method of fitting of exponential curve to population of India

A new method of fitting of growth curve to population data has been introduced. The method consists of: (i) to estimate the parameters of the growth curve, considered, on the basis of the entire data available and (ii) to estimate/project the population of the region considered, on the basis of the just present data. As the beginning of the study on the new method, introduced, exponential law of population growth has been fitted to the total population of India. On the basis of the fitted model, the total population of India has been projected year wise from 2002 to 2031 using the data from 1901 to 2031 obtained from the census of India.
