Teaching molecular mechanics in the chemistry curriculum

The concepts are simple, software and hardware more and mole available, chemistry oil the computer is attractive, practical applications are numerous, the field is growing in academic research as well as in the industry : these are the reasons why Mie should incorporate molecular modeling in our chemistry curriculum. This article presents molecular mechanics, the classical basis of molecular modeling, to the chemistry teacher. In a first part, the concepts have been introduced. In this second part, the possibilities of including molecular mechanics in a chemistry curriculum are discussed.
