Challenges in forensic computing

Different challenges faced by modern forensic computing, which involves analysis and reporting of digital evidences after an incident has occurred, are discussed. The digital records of forensic computing are prone to different risks including computer security breaches, committing illegal deeds, criminal activity targeting computers or use of computer-based devices that inadvertently collected information pertinent to a crime or dispute. The value of computer forensic laboratory is seen in his investigative and archival functions, and includes continual developments in process methodology. The need for seeking out and provide training on an ongoing basis is a main challenge faces by forensic examiners. More challenges are expected to emerge in this field due to the dynamic nature of the technology.
